The Beginning of a New Year.
The beginning of January is always the time to think about the past, present, and future. Most of us can look back and say that any bad thing that happened last year is now in the past. This is a new year, we can start fresh with a clean slate. Even if we had a good year, many are hoping for an even a better year.

Gen AI
Whether we like it or not, AI is here and taking over. Even as I am writing this, AI is making corrections and suggestions. The dangers that I see with Gen AI are that it will take away human work, reason, thinking, creativity, ambitions, learning, control, and decision making. We as Christians need to be aware of what is happening with technology. If we can use technology for the Gospel, then we should invest in it. But we need to be cautious of things that control lives without control from us, as well as technology usage that does not, please the Lord. “If you are looking for wisdom do not ask Google. Ask God.”

The Weather Outside is …
We all have checked the weather. It may be because we are farmers, we are planning an outside activity, we want to know what to wear, or we need to know whether school or work will be cancelled. Modern advancements in weather forecasting use advanced forecasting tools. But with all this technology, humans still cannot control the weather. The storms in our life are not always weather related. How we react to them and the storms that others are going through determines whether or not we trust the One who calms the stormy sea with His hand.

God not only told us that He love us. But He showed it. First accept and dwell in His love, then share your heart. This Valentine season, tell someone that you love them but show it all year long. “Love Offers Valuable Engagements with others.”

Teach Us To Pray.
Prayer is supposed to be living and vibrant communication between us and our Heavenly Father. Just as it would be strange to deliver a memorized speech in a conversation with another human being, so can it be inappropriate to recite memorized words to God in an impersonal and impassioned manner.

Pursuit of Happiness
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. Happiness depends on good happenings. When that event or moment is over, so is your happiness. “Joy, on the other hand, is a more long-lasting state of being, characterized by contentment and satisfaction with life overall.”

Easter Eggs and Bunnies?
I remember as a child, painting Easter eggs, looking for Easter eggs, getting Easter candy and waving at the Easter bunny. Now, as I look back, I wonder how this first started. The claims of a pagan origin or that Christian beliefs were synthesized with pagan customs cannot be proven or disproven. Ask others: “What is the real reason for Easter?” Listen to them and then do not preach but share. “How that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” I Cor 15:3,4

Which Power Are You Using?
We all need to depend on another DC for the power of our lives. That DC is Direct Christ. He goes where you go. He is always dependable. If you need to recharge, just look up. Too many live only on AC (Anti-Christ). They are connected to the dangerous world for everything. The world that is anti-good, anti-moral, and anti-God. When it fails, they fail.
